10D/9N Java Bali Tour (Starts from Bandung, end in Bali)

 

Day 1 : Departure in the morning toward Bandung through Bogor and Puncak.
On the outskirt of Jakarta a stop is made to visit the Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, a cultural park with samples of nearly all traditional houses from all regions of the archipelago. This gives rich ideas about various traditional architecture throughout the archipelago.
Afterward proceed to Bogor to visit the botanical Garden. Bogor Botanical Garden was created by the Dutch colonial government in 1817, collecting nearly 15000 species of tropical plants from all over the world. Drive on to Bandung and arrival in Bandung at the day.

Day 2 : Tangkuban Prahu (100 kms)
After breakfast leaving the hhotel for a fullday tour, visiting Tangkuban Prahu crater and the Ciater hot spring. Lunch can be taken in a local restaurant.
Proceed to Padasuka, the village where a musical group will present bamboo musical orchestra called Angklung.

 

Day 3 Bandung – Jogyakarta (8 hrs by train or 437 kms)
Departure at 07.00 am, transfer to the train station for a long trip of the day to Yogyakarta. Lunch box will be served on board.
Arrival in Yogyakarta and transfer to the hotel Santika Premier (***) located in the city

 

Day 4 : Borobudur – Solo
Departure in the morning to start this full day excursion which covers the 2 major tourist attraction: the Buddhist temple Borobudur, and Prambanan, a Hindu temple which shows an architectural elegance of the XII century.
Borobudur is considered as the biggest single temple monument in the world, built by Çailendra at IX century. Drive on to Solo. Night at Novotel Solo. (****)

 

Day 5 : Solo – Candi Sukuh et Ceto – Solo (180 km) 
Departure in the morning toward Karanganyar region. Two sites of interesting past are located in this of Ceto, built on top of a hill amids the tea plantation and the Candi Sukuh, a monument with uncommon megalithic form dated from some time in the XV century. Both temples are very beautiful especially the Candi Sukuh which presents very refined fresques and decoration. Back to Solo for a short city tours, visiting the Sultan Palace and Batik industry.

 

Day 6 : Solo – Kertosono – Malang (350 kms)
Departure by train from Solo early in the mornig (08.20). Nearly 3 hrs trip to arrive at train station of Kertosono, the small city in East Java. Transfers then by car to Malang. Lunch on the way. Short city tour visiting the bird market and the small flower market. Checking in at Santika Hotel in the city. (****).

 

Day 7 : Malang – Bromo – Ijen (250 kms)
Départure at 03.30 on 4X4 to go to Bromo. 2 hrs drive to arrive ont he foot of mount Bromo, hiking toward the crater rim to observe the sunrise. It is possible to go on horseback or by foot to make the last 700 mts before the crater.
Breakfast can be taken in a small restaurant near the site, afterward exploration across the remote region behind Bromo Crater. Remote villages on the foot of mount Semeru and driving through dense forest in the national park of Semeru which is of the few rainforests remaining intact in the island of Java.
This exploration ends in the small town of Lumajang. Lunch can be taken in a restaurant in Jember before continuing the trip toward Banyuwangi. Arrival at the end of afternoon at Ijen Resort and Villas (***)

 

Day 8. Ijen Crater (50 kms)
Early wake up call. Leaving the hotel after breakfast, at 05.30 toward Ijen Crater. One and a half hour drive through villages, plantation and rainforest to arrive at the last park ranger post. Then hiking up to the crater rim. One and a half hour hike to arrive at the rim of the crater. Spectacular landscape unveiled at the top. Breathtaking view of the crater with sulfur lake in the middle. After observation back to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure for visiting the neighboring villages or the rice fields surrounding the hotel.
Night at Ijen Resort and Villas.

 

Day 9 : Ijen – Bali (1hr on ferry + 160 kms)
Departure to Bali. Morning tour on the way to the harbour visiting one of the biggest plantations in the region. They plant coffee, cacao and rubber. Observation of the produce processing plant. Drive afterward to the harbor and then on ferry crossing the strait to Bali. Arrival in Lovina in the afternoon. Night at Aditya Lovina (**).

 

Day 10 : Lovina – Denpasar (100 kms)
Fullday tour across Bali island, departure in the morning to Bedugul, mountain resort with beautiful landscape of the Bratan Lake and the ancient temple built on the lake side. Drive downsouth afterward to to Mengwi the royal temple built in XVII century and then on to Tanah Lot, spectacular temple built by the sea facing the Indian Ocean.
In the evening arrival in Sanur, checking in at Segara Village (****) hotel in Sanur, a beach resort hotel.
End of the program.
